Restaurants
Here you will find a small sample of the many restaurants within walking distance of the guesthouse. This is really meant to give you some ideas, but please do not assume that a restaurant is not worthy of a visit because they are not on our list. The truth is that there are very few eateries that we do not enjoy downtown, and while some of these restaurants below are favorites, we also added some based on proximity to our home and tried to have numerous categories without boring you to death! If you need any additional suggestions, do not hesitate to reach out.
Closest Restaurants:
Savorez Restaurant .3 miles: Savorez is located on the corner of 4th and Chestnut St. in downtown Wilmington. They serve Latin inspired dishes while sourcing foods locally. At the time of writing this, Savorez is ranked the #1 restaurant in Wilmington, on Trip Advisor.
Folks Café .3 miles: As of writing this, Folks Café is only open for outdoor dining or carryout. They are a great stop for a breakfast sandwich and locally roasted coffee, but also offer a selection of pastries and food items. They are ranked in the top 10 for Wilmington Coffee and Tea on Trip Advisor.
Sandwiches, Burgers, Apps:
Copper Penny .5 miles: Copper Penny was featured on the food networks show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. A selection of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches as well as a full bar. At the time of writing, they were ranked #14 in Wilmington Restaurants on Trip Advisor.
Fork and Cork .7 miles: Great food, but you may have difficulty securing a table. They do not take reservations and the location has very limited seating. One of our favorites, but if you are not big on changing your plans on the fly, we suggest having a plan B in your back pocket before heading out. At the time of writing, they were ranked #14 in Wilmington Restaurants on Trip Advisor.
Italian:
Quanto Basta .6 miles: New Italian restaurant with great food, they opened after extensive renovations, after the start of COVID-19 in 2020. We really enjoy the desert here. One observation that they may eventually address is that it can be fairly noisy due to the lack of carpet or ceiling tiles, but we wouldn’t let this detour you. I would not put much weight in their Trip Advisor rank, given the fact that they only have 7 reviews to date.
Tarantelli’s .8 miles: One that we frequent fairly regularly, Tarantelli’s offers a variety of great Italian dishes and offers both indoor, and outdoor dining. One of Jen’s favorites is the Lasagna. At the time of writing this they were ranked #82 in Wilmington Restaurants on Trip Advisor, keep in mind that their are over 475 restaurants in total, so this is still a very respectable score.
Pizza:
Slice of Life .7 miles: Probably our most frequented pizza venue. We enjoy their pizza, but they do tend to be a bit on the greasy side. This is something we don’t mind but it definitely is worth mentioning. Slice is rated 56 in Restaurants and #16 in Bars on Trip Advisor, at the time this was written.
Mellow Mushroom .6 miles: While we typically stay away from chain restaurants, Mellow is a welcomed exception. This franchise location recently opened on the ground floor of newly constructed condos. They have some unique pizza, and we love the pretzel bites with pub cheese. This location did not have Trip Advisor reviews or rankings at the time of writing this.
Sushi:
Yo Sake: Jen does not enjoy Sushi, so we don’t frequent this establishment much, but they have a great atmosphere, and great Sushi. They do have other items as well, but Sushi is what they are known for. They also offer great value on a limited menu happy hour which is from 4-6pm daily. Rated #59 in Restaurants on Trip Advisor.
